The Professional Preparation Program for Principal Certification is offered to graduate students and it allows educators to continue their professional development in school leadership and administration. You may apply if you hold a regionally-accredited master’s degree in any field.
You must also hold a teaching certificate and two years of practical teaching experience. As necessary, the Lamar University admissions staff will initiate waivers of any experience or certification requirements in instances where they may not apply, such as applications from states that do not require certification for licensure. Those applicants who intend to certify in Texas must have a Texas teaching certificate.
