About Lamar Link
What is Lamar Link?
Lamar Link is an innovative program offered jointly between Lamar University and Lamar Institute of Technology and Lamar State College Orange. This program provides first-time college students with comprehensive support from both institutions; it offers affordability, access, and the eventual opportunity to enroll at Lamar University.
If you choose to enroll in the Lamar Link program, you can enjoy great benefits while working to meet LU's admissions requirements. You can live on campus at LU while completing your first year of courses at Lamar Institute of Technology. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to choose a Lamar Link Degree Pathway that offers guaranteed credit transferability.
As a Lamar Link student, you will have:
- dedicated student success support
- student ID cards for both LU and LIT/LSCO
- eligibility to participate in many programs and activities at both colleges
- living quarters in LU's Gentry residence hall
- possible eligibility for Study Abroad
- access to LU intramural sports and LU’s state-of-the-art fitness center
- library privileges at LU
- free tickets to many LU athletic events; attend concerts and cultural events; and much more!
Upon successful completion of the Lamar Link program, which includes meeting transfer admission requirements, you can expect an easy transition to Lamar University. Visit Lamar University transfer admissions for more information.
How to Apply
New ApplyTexas Applicants
- Visit ApplyTexas and choose your preferred college (LIT or LSCO).
- Select "Associates Degree" option.
- Select "Lamar Link" under Major Code.
- Choose your program of study.
- Complete and submit your application.
Previous ApplyTexas Applicants
- Visit ApplyTexas and open your current application
- Click "Copy" to copy the application
- Choose 2-year Institution
- Choose LIT or LSCO
- For major code, select "Lamar Link"
- Complete and submit your application
All Lamar Link students are encouraged to apply for scholarships before the January 15 priority deadline.
Lamar Link Housing
Gentry Hall is home to Lamar Link students!
Once accepted to the program, you'll live on-campus at Lamar University's Gentry Hall and housed in 3-person suites in either double or single rooms on a space-available basis. › See the room floor plans
