Your Lamar Electronic Account (LEA) is your primary student email address and log in to a number of resources at Lamar University, like your Student Portal, MyScholarships Portal, and Housing Application. It is formatted with your first initial, last name and potentially a number. You will find your LEA information in your acceptance letter and via email after acceptance to LU.
To activate your LEA, you will need to set up a password, create security questions and sign up for two-factor authentification (via DuoMobile).

Complete the Scholarship Application:Lamar University awards millions in scholarships every year to students. Access myScholarships to get started. All students are encouraged to complete the General Scholarship Application and College Application. These applications take only a few minutes to complete and matches students to dozens of scholarships they qualify for.
Complete the FAFSA: Students can complete the FAFSA through studentaid.gov. Use School Code: 003581 to have your financial aid information sent to LU upon completion of the form.
Priority Deadline for financial aid is May 1.
Complete the TASFA: Students classified as Texas residents who are not eligible to apply for federal financial aid using the FAFSA are encouraged to complete the TASFA.
Do not complete both the FAFSA and TASFA.

The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is mandated by Texas law to ensure that students are ready for college-level courses in the areas of mathematics, reading and writing.

Not sure if you are exempt? Complete this form to find out if you qualify for a TSI exemption.
Note: TSI exemptions are special cases and not all students will qualify for one. Those that do not qualify will need to schedule a TSI test.

Make the most of your time at Lamar University by living on campus! Cardinal Village is made up of 5 residence halls full of apartment-style housing. With two floor plans to choose from, you will only have one or two roommates (that you can choose), only sharing the kitchen, living room, and bathroom!

Is this your first year in college? We cannot wait to have you on campus! All first-year freshman are required to live on campus and select a meal plan. Don't worry! We have multiple, special events planned to make your time at Lamar memorable.
Do you live close to campus? While we enjoy having our Cardinals living on campus, we understand if you decide to communte to campus. Students who live within 60 miles of campus may qualify for a housing exemption.
All first-year students are required to complete either a housing application or an exemption in their Housing Portal. Use your LEA to log in to your portal and complete this step.
Registration opens in Spring!
NSO is mandatory for all incoming first year students and has many dates throughout the summer to choose from. At orientation, you will learn how to get involved, meet campus leaders, learn LU traditions and meet fellow Cardinals and receive your class schedule!
All admitted students will need to submit various records and transcripts to complete their enrollment to Lamar University.
