The world's a stage and, in this class, you will perform scenes from famous plays with your classmates and gain credit for going to see performances at the University Theatre.

SPSC 1301 Space Exploration

Think space is cool but not a huge fan of math?  In addition to counting as core credit for most non-STEM majors, this course covers the basics of understanding the solar system and the physical makeup of the universe. You’ll learn facts about space without delving too deeply into the math behind it all.

COMM 1375 Film Appreciation

You literally get to watch movies in class.  Plus, it counts as core appreciation credit. Art and music are cool, but you just can’t beat this elective.

Do you like storytelling? How about poetry? The topic of this class rotates by semester from fiction to poetry, to drama. You can expect to do a lot of writing, which isn't everyone's cup of tea. Whether you already wow with your fresh moves or are the type to trip over your own feet, this class, which can count as a core PE class for some majors, has something for everybody. The topic rotates from semester to semester. Previous semesters include unique topics like aerial silks and hip hop. And if the offered topic isn’t to your liking, Lamar offers many other kinds of dance classes for non-majors, including ballroom, ballet, and jazz.
