The event’s overall theme was “Unstoppable: Empowerment Through Perseverance.” Additionally, students, choose themes related to their favorite movies, games or hobbies and created poster presentations to explain how their themes reflected their nursing school experience and the knowledge they have acquired.
Joyce Guillory chose Spiderman as her presentation theme. “Nurses are superheroes,” said Guillory. “You’re
not always sure what your assignment will be so you need to be prepared.”
Mario Barajas Alvarez' presentation was based on Ariana Grande song lyrics, "I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it."
Elisa Tipton used the "Unstoppable" theme to recall and document the hardships resulting from two major natural disasters that occurred during the nursing student's time at LU. “Many of us were affected by either
Harvey or Imelda in nursing school,” said Elisa Tipton. “If we can overcome, we are truly unstoppable."
Lynde Freeze, a diving enthusiast presented her "Diving through Nursing School, and Aji-Haddy Sahor got to the "heart" of the matter. She used a clogged heart to represent challenges in life. “The clot also represents obstacles to overcome in life,” said Sahor.
