Dual MBA/M.S. Professional Accounting

You must meet the admission and prerequisite requirement for both the MBA Program and Master of Science in Professional Accounting Program.

You must meet the graduation requirements of each program individually including minimum grade point average and time limit policies. Grade point averages in both programs are computed separately.

You will be enrolled as a student in the dual degree program as long as you meet minimum standards for continuation in each program. In the rare case that you are dismissed or withdrawn from one program, you may continue and complete the other program as long as you meet the minimum standards in that program.

However, you must fulfill all requirements for regularly admitted students in the remaining program. You must complete this degree within six years.

If you are applying to the MBA/Master of Science in Professional Accounting dual-degree program at Lamar University, you must:

  1. Request to add a second degree program (subject to admissions requirements) once admitted to your first program.
  2. Meet the graduation requirements of each program individually, including minimum grade point average and time limit policies.
  3. Take particular note of the deadline dates for applications to each program and schedule your GMAT accordingly.

Additional Requirements

Remember that:

  • Requirements for earning the MBA degree and the policies of the program (schedule adjustment, time limit for degree completion, etc.) are outlined in the MBA student handbook.
  • To begin the certification process within each degree program, you must apply for graduation from each program separately, in keeping with each program's deadlines and policies.
  • GPAs in both programs are computed separately. You will be enrolled as a student in the dual degree program as long as you meet minimum standards for continuation in each program. In the rare case that you are dismissed or withdraw from one program, you may continue and complete the other program as long as you meet the minimum standards in that program. You must fulfill all requirements for regularly admitted students in the remaining program.
