Welcome to the Department of Health and Kinesiology in the Lamar University's College of Education and Human Development.
Our goal is to provide a positive, encouraging and challenging educational experience to prepare you for a career in your chosen field, which promotes lifetime fitness, health and wellness, and physical activity in your future athletes, clients, students, and patients.
At the conclusion of our programs, you’ll be prepared for careers in exercise science, physical education, coaching, athletic training, public health, and many graduate programs, such as physical or occupational therapy.
We offer five degree programs, three at the undergraduate level and two at the graduate level. Our curriculum incorporates current theories, practices and the most effective research and services, and we utilize best teaching practices, including a variety of hands-on experiences, research opportunities, and community outreach in the education of our students.
The Health & Human Performance Complex is located directly across from the rec center.
