Lamar University’s academic policies and procedures serve as a guide to academic practices at the University. Lamar’s academic policies and procedures are developed through a rigorous, methodical process that involves significant input and review by Lamar faculty and academic administrators. This process is explained in full in the guiding policy, University-level Academic Policies.
Lamar’s academic policies and procedures are subject to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations of the federal government, State of Texas, and Texas State University System (TSUS). These policies and procedures have been developed to ensure compliance with these higher authorities. If there is a conflict between a Lamar policy or procedure and a federal, state, or TSUS law, rule, or regulation, the federal, state, or TSUS requirement will take precedence and the Lamar academic policy or procedure will be revised to reflect the higher authority.
Questions and comments about Lamar's academic policies can be directed to Dr. Gene Theodori, Associate Provost for Academic Affairs, at 409-880-7692 or gtheodori@lamar.edu.
