Curriculum Vitae

Dallas Lauderdale comes from a family of musicians and has been involved in music for her entire life. While pursuing her Bachelor’s in Bassoon Performance—studying under Ms. Jan Scott, she began playing with the Lake Charles Symphony Orchestra as the second bassoonist/substitute principal bassoonist. Ms. Lauderdale has also performed often with the Rapides Symphony Orchestra as their contrabassoonist and has substituted both principal and second bassoon for the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra.

During her Masters, Ms. Lauderdale studied under Ms. Kathleen Reynolds and was able to perform with the University of North Texas Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra. At this time she discovered her love for teaching, while creating a studio across the Denton, Lake Dallas, and Prosper ISDs. Ms. Lauderdale also served as the UNT Bassoon Studio’s teaching fellow and gained experience in teaching collegiate level private lessons and reed-making.

Ms. Lauderdale is now back in the SETX/SWLA area, eager to build up the double reed community.
