The Texas State University System has partnered with On Call International to provide immediate support for students who experience any challenges while studying abroad.
On Call provides students with resources to navigate any crisis. On Call makes sure students can continue their trip or get home safely. On Call assists during critical emergencies such as illness or injury that may require an evacuation or during a political or natural disaster event that may threaten your safety. On Call also assists with smaller problems such as lost luggage or replacing a lost medication with the in-country equivalent.
While abroad, students can contact the On Call lntenational 24/7 Global Response Center from anywhere in the world by call or text.
If you are a student or parent and you are interested in more information, feel free to reach out to On Call's customer service line at (855) 878-9590 M-F 9:00 am - 5:00 p.m.
LU's director of Health and Safety will give a presentation to students about On Call International's coverage. Students will learn how to use the app and important info that students should know while abroad.
Students' travel information will be loaded into On Call International's app, OnSolve. This allows the Office of Study Abroad to keep track of travelers and flights should an emergency arise. On Call can contact students if they are in an emergency to make sure they are safe or to provide helpful information.
For more information, reach out to the Office of Study Abroad at studyabroad@lamar.edu, and we will provide you with a detailed protection plan.
If you need to insure the total value of your trip, check plans and prices with various companies before making your final selection. InsureMyTrip is one example of a company that provides trip insurance.
