Boot Camp Program Information

The McNair Scholars Grad School Prep Boot Camp is an event open to all Lamar University students and will feature several topics to prepare aspiring graduate students for success.  Some of these topics include:

• The Benefits of Grad School, and Grad School Opportunities at LU
• Searching for Grad Programs (Where to begin?) 
• Grad School Applications / Timelines   
• Writing a Personal / Purpose Statement   
• Developing your Curriculum Vitae   
• Career Opportunities for PhDs in Different Fields   
• Financing Grad School   
• Adulting 101 / Tips for Relocating and Transitioning to Grad School

This event will also feature a Grad School Panel Discussion and informational workshops with knowledgeable speakers that can illuminate the transition to graduate school.

This event will kick off with lunch on Tuesday, May 28^th at 12pm and end at 5pm, picking up again on Wednesday, May 29^th at 8:30am and concluding at 1pm, with another lunch provided.

Interested students must register no later than Wednesday, May 15^th to secure their spot!
