LU offers Spanish workshop for teachers April 23
Lamar University’s Department of English and Modern Languages’ Master of Arts in Teaching Spanish program and the Beaumont Children’s Museum will host a workshop on application of World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages, April 23. Registration and a $20 fee is required.
The workshop, which will be held at the museum at 701 Main Street in Beaumont from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., offers 4 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) credits, and will show how the new standards can improve teaching style, engage students and improve students’ grades.
Participants will also learn about LU’s Masters of Arts in Teaching Spanish (MATS) program that offers opportunity to immerse in the study of Spanish and culture abroad, including field study in several cities in Spain, flexible online and intensive summer courses geared toward the working teaching professional.
