Lamar University’s online engineering ranked number one
ONLINEU ranks Lamar University’s online engineering bachelor’s degree the best in the nation in two categories.
LU’s Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering received two recognitions by ONLINEU, a free and comprehensive guide that enables students to compare all online colleges in the U.S. The program was ranked in the 2020 rankings as the most affordable online bachelor’s degree as well as the best online engineering degree.
“We are very proud of our outstanding faculty, staff and students in the Department of Industrial Engineering,” said Brian Craig, dean of the College of Engineering. “All of our graduates are highly sought-after by a host of employers ranging from the oil and gas industry to the global technology industry and from the aerospace industry to major theme parks. We’re graduating leaders, and that’s what defines our success.”
Lamar University’s Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering is offered in both the traditional classroom and online formats to meet the needs of today’s students and by providing access to a high quality engineering program to students that may not otherwise have. LU began offering the junior and senior year courses in an online format in 2014 and through use of today’s advanced online course delivery tools, delivers an online degree option that is completely equivalent to the high quality face-to-face BSIE degree that LU has provided since the 1950s.
All schools ranked are regionally accredited and fully online. Tuitions were manually researched and out-of-state tuitions were used unless in-state tuition is offered to all online students. Data considered for the rankings includes available degrees, tuition rates and details about program coursework as well as acceptance rates, programmatic accreditation and profit status of schools.
