LUTV News and University Press student contributors recently received recognition from the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association (TIPA) for their work in journalism. TIPA is an association representing the student media at two-year and four-year public and private colleges and universities in Texas. Media represented includes newspapers, general magazines, literary magazines, yearbooks, radio, television and online. 

"For our LUTV News students to receive recognition from organizations such as the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association for their work, it greatly motivates them to continue their development as broadcasting professionals,” said Gordon Williams, television station manager and LUTV News instructor. 

The Lamar University recipients of this year’s TIPA awards are:

TIPA is the oldest state collegiate press association in the nation and has grown into one of the largest and most respected collegiate groups in the country.

Los colaboradores de LUTV y la Prensa universitaria recibieron recientemente el reconocimiento de la Asociación de Prensa Intercolegial de Texas (TIPA) por su trabajo en periodismo. TIPA es una asociación que representa a los medios de comunicación estudiantiles en los colegios y universidades públicas y privadas de dos y cuatro años en Texas. Los medios representados incluyen periódicos, revistas generales, revistas literarias, anuarios, radio, televisión y en línea. 

"Afortunadamente, al final de cada semestre de LUTV News, nuestros estudiantes pueden ver su crecimiento en el contenido que han creado. Para que nuestros estudiantes reciban reconocimiento de organizaciones como la Asociación de Prensa Intercolegial de Texas por su trabajo, los motiva enormemente. para continuar su desarrollo como profesionales de la radiodifusión," dijo Gordon Williams, director de LUTV.
