The Mary Morgan Moore Department of Music will host their Piano Festival on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8-9, in the Rothwell Performance Hall located on the campus of Lamar University. The Piano Festival will include a faculty recital by the Duo Korusa, master classes, and a recital by guest artist Rodolfo Morales.
“This year's piano festival is the biggest and most ambitious yet,” said Jacob Clark, associate professor of piano for the department. “We are excited to present a faculty two-piano recital Friday night, Lamar student recital Saturday afternoon, as well as masterclasses for pre-college and high school piano students. The festival will culminate with a guest artist recital Saturday evening featuring talented high school pianists from Kinder HSPVA as well as their teacher Rodolfo Morales.”
The Piano Festival schedule of events are as follows:
Friday, October 8 – Duo Korusa Faculty Recital, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, October 9 – Masterclass for pre-college students, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.; Guest artist masterclass for Lamar students featuring Rodolfo Morales; Lamar Piano Studio recital, 4-5 p.m.; Guest artist recital featuring Rodolfo Morales and the piano students of Kinder HSPVA.
