LU Office of Alumni Affairs announces 2022-2023 Alumni Advisory Board

The Lamar University Alumni Advisory Board has elected Lila (Creamer) Stevens ’01 of Beaumont to serve as 2022-2023 president. Nga “Tea” (Nguyen) Do ’08 of Beaumont will serve as past president and Sharita Gardner ’12 of Beaumont will serve as president-elect.
New members of the board are Larry Acker ’10 of Marshall; Kennetha (Robinson) Alvarez ’09, ’12, of Nederland; Hetty (Green) Brown ’79 of Beaumont; Meg (Baertl) Brown ’15 of Beaumont; Gerard Celestine ’91, ’96 of Cheek, Celine Do ’18, ’22 of Groves, Nathan Mistric ’12, ’21 of Nederland, J.R. Richardson ’92 of Katy, John Rollins ’12 of Beaumont, and Jacob Wills ’22 of Beaumont.
Returning board members include Tania Castelan ’13, Zachary Celeste ’11, Josh Davis ’11, ’15, ’19, Sheri (Horn) DelMage ’01, ’03, Nga “Tea” (Nguyen) Do ’08, Dr. Sandra (Thomas) Duhon ’78, Sharita Gardner ’12, Dawanna Jones ’06, ’11, Scott McKenney ’77, Todd Senters, Sr. ’96, Marilyn (Arline) Smith ’80, Lila (Creamer) Stevens ’01, and Daylyn Turner ’07 all of Beaumont.

Alumni Advisory Board members serve three-year terms and support Lamar University and the Office of Alumni Affairs by bringing their diverse professional expertise and passion for their alma mater as they serve as advisors, advocates, and ambassadors. They work to promote Lamar University pride in their communities, and to develop and strengthen the bonds among alumni, students, and the university community. “I look forward to working with this group of dedicated and talented individuals as we focus on advancing the university, enhancing alumni experiences, honoring traditions, and strengthening alumni involvement with our student body,” said Shannon Figueroa, Lamar University Director of Alumni Affairs.
