Blake Wilson named December First-Generation Student of the Month

Blake Wilson, a junior majoring in Management Information Systems with a concentration in Enterprise Systems, has been named Lamar University's First-Generation Student of the Month for December.Blake Wilson

Hailing from Beaumont, Texas, Wilson embodies resilience and determination. As a first-generation college student, he has navigated personal challenges, including the loss of his father, to pursue his education.

“This experience represents a journey of resilience, determination, and personal growth,” Wilson said. “It’s an opportunity to empower other students to pursue their paths in life, no matter what obstacles they may encounter in the future.”

In addition to his academic achievements, Wilson serves as a Lamar University Ambassador, further contributing to the campus community by representing the university at various events and helping prospective students learn about the opportunities Lamar offers. His leadership and involvement highlight his dedication to his education and supporting others.
