Pairings chairs Heather and Danny Montalbano are excited to introduce you to the wines of Freemark Abbey for Pairings 2025. Freemark Abbey is one of the oldest wineries in Napa Valley. It was founded in 1886 by a young woman named Josephine Tychson who travelled from Pennsylvania to St. Helena with a dream to become a vintner with her husband John. The winery has a rich history of firsts including opening one of the earliest tasting rooms, creating a wine library, emerging from prohibition in record time, and the first to show both a red and white wine at the 1976 Judgment of Paris. You will enjoy these wines!
The funds raised through this event support the exceptional exhibitions and programs of the Dishman Art Museum. Most recently the museum exhibited a selection of photographs by Dina Litovsky. Litovsky is a New York based documentary photographer who has published work in National Geographic, The New York Times Magazine, TIME, New Yorker, GQ and New York Magazine. The Dishman exhibition featured a series of photographs in an exhibition entitled Where the Amish Vacation. The museum also featured works by 2006 Lamar graduate Patrick Patterson who spent 14 months documenting the war in Ukraine.
We greatly appreciate your continued patronage of Lamar University and the Dishman Art Museum.
Cheers!
