Guests

We are honored to have you be a part of this wonderful celebration in congratulating and honoring our new graduates. We welcome you to Lamar University. We know, without a doubt, the help and support from family and friends makes a big difference in our students' academic journey to receiving a diploma.

Guest Seating

Venue doors open and guest seating begins one hour prior to the start of the ceremony. Should another ceremony still be underway, guests are asked to wait until that group has departed to find their seats. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Large groups may want to arrive earlier to find seats together. Graduation ceremony locations are ADA compliant. Seating for wheelchair/mobility/visually impaired patrons is available.

Ceremony Length

Although the length of each ceremony varies with the number of graduates, it is best to plan for up to 1.5 to 2 hours for the following ceremony:

  • Colleges of Engineering Business and Fine Arts and Communication
Please plan for 2.5 to 3 hours for the following colleges:
  • College of Arts and Sciences
  • College of Education and Human Development

Although guests may leave the viewing area at any time, we request that graduating students and their guests respect the other graduates by staying during the entire ceremony.

Live Stream

If you are not able to attend, capture the moment by watching a live stream of the ceremony
