Congratulations new graduates on all of your extraordinary accomplishments and welcome to the LU Alumni family! We are a community of over 115,000 undergraduate and graduate alumni living and working around the world. We celebrate you and look forward to being by your side as you navigate the exciting opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
As a graduate, your lifelong relationship with Lamar University is just beginning. Check out these ways on how you can stay engaged with your alma mater!
While on the move, don’t forget to update your information. Send along your life updates for inclusion in Cardinal Cadence Magazine’s Class Notes. We love hearing about all of the wonderful things alumni are up to.
As a Lamar University graduate, there are a number of events designed specifically for alumni to network with each other such as professional development events, social events, pre-game parties, Homecoming, etc. Be sure to send us your updated mailing address so you can receive invitations for events in your area. Check out our Cardinal Adventures page for some great travel opportunities. Be sure to view our calendar of events often for information about upcoming events. And of course we hope that you will still cheer on LU Athletics when they play on campus or around the country. Also, don’t forget to join our Lamar University Alumni group on LinkedIn for online career networking.
Your contributions and volunteerism matter greatly for ensuring that future generations of Cardinals continue to have the same great experiences you had at LU. Consider attending LU events, supporting your favorite departments or initiatives through the LU Forever Fund, volunteering to help with Recruitment Initiatives or recommend LU to a prospective student, being a guest speaker to students, mentoring an LU student, or nominate yourself or someone else to be considered for the alumni advisory board.
As an alumnus, you have lifelong access to our Center for Career and Professional Development. Our career liaisons can assist you if you are looking for employment or working through graduate school applications. Whether you are starting your career, looking for a career change, or looking to offer opportunities to current students for positions or internships, our Handshake database is a great resource. Contact our Office of Graduate Admissions for information about continuing your education at Lamar University. The Registrar’s Office will help you by providing up to 5 free copies of your transcript per long semester. And annual donors to the Office of Alumni Affairs have privileges at the Mary and John Gray Library, get discounts to local and national vendors, and have access to purchasing a membership at the Sheila Umphrey Recreational Sports Center. Alumni also receive free admission to the Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown Museum.
Show your Cardinal Pride where ever you go! Send us your business card for our Get Tagged Program to request a free luggage tag. Educators can request a free packet for your classroom or office on our Cardinals in the Classroom page. Download some LU digital swag for your electronic devices. Ride with Pride! Request your free LU Alumni decal on our request form.
