  • 2011-2012: Scholarship Activity: Channeled 10 scholarships ($14,000 each x 4 years = $56,000 x 10 = $560,000) into the COB in 2011. In 2012 Contacted all Senior Counselors at LU feeder schools to encourage student application, school participation, and to answer questions including Central Medical Magnet, Westbrook, Ozen, Nederland, PNG, Lumberton, memorial, Monsignor Kelly, Silsbee, and Hamshire-Fannett.
  • 2011-2012: Scholarship Activity: Channeled approximately $140,000 of scholarship funds into the College of Business.
  • 2011-2012: Blackboard Workshop: Organized a workshop with the Executive Editor/Management from McGraw-Hill orienting faculty and interested others on the campus to state-of-the-art use of learning objects with Blackboard. The presentation was 2 hours in length.

  • 2015 – 2016: Adjunct member of Ph.D. Dissertation Committee - Texas Southern University, Provided editing of and guidance for the writing and research of a Ph.D. candidate in Public Administration at Texas Southern University. Service was provided intermittently over the 2015-2017 years.
  • 2014 – 2016: DEFY, DEFY is a New York City not-for-profit organization serving former felons with second-tier support in the five Burroughs.
  • 2012 – 2015: I Like Me Book Distribution, Books were published personalized with the names of first graders at Langham Elementary School in them. The name of the student's "best friend" was included in the volume. The volumes were purchased by the members of the Nederland Rotary Club and distributed in person to each student in person. Readings followed. This is important because it encourages the first graders of the NISD to begin reading. It is very important to have students who read in our community.
  • 2012 – 2015: NISD Teacher Appreciation Day, The Rotary Club of Nederland each year takes cake or cookies to each school to demonstrate support and appreciation of teachers and staff in the district.
  • 2014: Community Churches, Helped with set-up/breakdown and other preparations for a Fall Fest for about 300 children in South Park on the evening of October 31, 2014.

  • 2013: I Like Me Books Distribution NSID, Distributed "I Like Me" books to students at Langham Elementary School in the NSID. These books are distributed to encourage students to learn to read. The storyline has their names individually embedded in the storyline along with the names of two of their friends. We then read to selected students and encourage them to read their books along with others in the school library.
  • 2013: Nederland Independent School District - Rotary Club of Nederland, The Rotary Club of Nederland provided a Career Day for approximately 440 Nederland ISD students. Approximately 40 speakers and 25 adults also participated.

  • 2012: Franklin House Women & Children Shelter, Volunteered for an off-site Mother's Day recognition for residents of the Franklin House shelter. Helped gather materials and door prizes, cooperated in decoration for a related banquet, participated in the food preparation, served a table, washed dishes, cleared tables, and worked clean-up.
  • 2012: All Saints School, Provided technical expertise to the All Saints School - staff and Executive Committee of the Board.
  • 2011: Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA), RYLA is a three-day retreat teaching leadership skills to high school students. Volunteer service is four days including set up.
  • 2011: Lamar University, Faculty Development Blastoff, August 16-2011 - Presented one hour presentation related research methods.
  • 2011: Southeast Texas Food Bank, Loaded boxes and moved them to pallets for distribution to needy in Southeast Texas. This is a monthly activity taking about 1/2 day each time.
  • 2011: Beaumont Hotel, Worked with administration, board and owner of Beaumont Hotel on strategic planning initiative.
  • 2011: Nederland Independent School District, Through the Nederland Rotary Club - I Like Me Books - The club purchases books for every first grader in NISD. Students receive books with the storyline incorporating their own names to increase interest in reading.
