  • 2018: El-Houbi, A., & Rab, M., THE EFFECTS OF PETROCHEMICAL PLANTS ON ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND LIFESTYLE IN SOUTHEAST TEXAS. I worked with a graduate student Mr. Md Ashiqur Rab in this Research. I have guided the student through all the research process.

    This study examines the attitudes of the residents of the Golden Triangle area towards their lifestyle in Southeast Texas. It focuses on residents’ perceptions of the effects of environmental pollution caused by the petrochemical plants. The data for this study were collected through a survey of 3,272 individuals in the Golden Triangle area. Statistical models such as logistic regression and factor analysis were used to analyze and ascertain if there were significant
    relationships between the response variables and the set of predictor variables. Variables tested included perceptual and attitudinal variables such as perception about pollution, health hazards, healthcare costs, neighborhoods close to the petrochemical plants, and economic benefits of the new plants. As a result, differences in perception regarding the environment, health and economic impacts, and benefits of the petrochemical plants were found across the cohort.

Constructed a survey about Internet Addiction, collected Data at Lamar University and compared it with Data from other colleges in the US. The study will be compared to other countries in the Middle East. Several statistical methods such as correlation analysis and logistic regression will be used to study the factors that may lead to internet addiction.
