Family Studies B.S. with Teacher Certification
Our teacher certification program provides professional training for careers requiring knowledge of family and consumer sciences and expertise in instructional methods.
Upon graduating from this program, you will meet Texas requirements for teaching family and consumer science courses at the secondary level. You also need to meet the certification requirements of the Lamar University Teacher Education Program.
Prior to being certified, you must successfully complete the family and consumer science content examination and the TExES examination covering pedagogy and professional responsibilities.
