Master of Engineering

The Master of Engineering degree in the Civil Engineering concentration is a non-thesis, 30-semester-hour program. The degree is designed to suit the needs of the practicing engineer in one of the engineering disciplines in the College.

Admission Requirements

Admission standards are designed to ensure that all enrolled students are qualified professionals serving in a leadership role in their engineering discipline. The primary requirements are as follows:
  1. B.S. in Engineering (Transcripts required)
  2. Competitive Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Scores (Verbal + Quantitative>=285,Quantitative>=155)
  3. If English is a second language, obtain the minimum scores in IELTS or TOEFL according to the latest University policy.

*We recommend taking the GRE so we have more information to base acceptance on, especially for those students who do not have a high GPA or have not graduated from an ABET accredited program.*

Degree Requirements

  1. All College of Graduate Studies general degree requirements
  2. A minimum of 9 semester hours of core courses as approved by their academic advisor or the chair of the department.
  3. A minium of 21 elective courses from the CVEN graduate course list or other graduate courses as approved by their academic advisor or the chair of the department.
  4. Satisfactory completion of a final comprehensive examination
