I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. My research looks at stochastic transportation system modeling and analysis, big data analysis, GIS applications, waterway transportation and electric vehicles. Please check Google Scholar for my recent publications.
My research received support from the Texas Department of Transportation, Sabine-Neches Navigation District, the Texas General Land Office, the Center for Advances in Port Management of Lamar University, the Center for Midstream Management and Science of Lamar University, the Center for Resilience of Lamar University and Lamar University Research Enhancement Grant, etc.
I now serve as a member of one standing National Transportation Research Board Committee: Marine Safety and Human Factors (AW040). I am also a member of INFORMS (Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences) and IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (IEEE-ITSC). I am also the reviewer of a series of highly-ranked academic journals in Transportation Engineering.
I teach a variety of courses covering transportation engineering, project management, engineering probabilities and statistics, GIS, AutoCAD and surveying.
I received my Ph.D. degree in Transportation from Northwestern University, and two M.S. degrees from Carnegie Mellon University (Civil Engineering) and Tsinghua University in China (Management Science and Engineering). I received my B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Tsinghua University.
