Cadenza is the magazine of the Reaud Honors College and is written and edited by the college's students and staff.
Story Behind the Name
Inspired by Lamar University's award-winning magazine Cardinal Cadence, LU's honors program selected a harmonious title in 2006 for our new publication — Cadenza.
Whereas "cadence" refers to the measure or beat of an overall work, a "cadenza" is a virtuosic passage, often performed by gifted soloists.
When our honors program grew into the Reaud Honors College in Fall 2014, we transformed Cadenza from a newsletter into a magazine. Cadenza continues to provide us a wonderful opportunity to share news about Lamar University's "virtuosic" students with our alumni, parents and LU community.
We hope you enjoy it, and we hope that you will let us know what you would like to see in future issues of Cadenza.
