The Office of the Registrar is an operating component of the Division of Enrollment Management. Our principal responsibilities are to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of student data and academic records from registration services to conducting commencement ceremonies celebrating the academic accomplishments of Lamar University students.
- Academic room scheduling; schedule of classes; course registration
- Certify academic eligibility of student athletes
- Graduation and Commencement
- Provide the final degree review of undergraduates and graduates
- Coordinates the distribution of undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate diplomas
- Organizes and conducts commencement ceremonies
- Maintain Academic Calendar, Comprehensive Catalog, and Course Directory
- Manages degree audit system - DegreeWorks
- Monitors students’ academic progress
- Maintain accuracy of degree plans
- Maintain general core requirements
- Oversight and interpretation of academic records policies and establishment of related procedures
- Oversight of compliance with FERPA
