Title IX

What Is Title IX?

Title IX ("Title 9") is a federal civil rights law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in schools. Lamar University is firmly committed to maintaining an educational environment free from all forms of sex discrimination.

Counselors in the Student Health Center are confidential.

This means that if a student discusses an incident with a counselor, it is confidential. The counselor will not report any information about the incident to anyone in any way that identifies you without your permission.
