TEA has implemented new certifications and changes to the following School Counselor exam.

• New School Counselor (252) exam that will launch September 6, 2021.
• The last administration for the School Counselor (152) exam will be September 5, 2021. 
• The TExES School Counselor (152) exam will be offered until 9/5/2021. Candidates must complete all certification requirements (e.g., course work, practicum) and apply with Lamar University and TEA to be recommended for certification by 9/6/2022.
• The dates listed are scheduled launch dates and could be subject to change at a later date.
