About the Program

The Education & Human Development Ambassadors are a group of undergraduate students who represent COEHD and our three undergraduate departments.

Student Ambassadors assist in several ways including:

  • Representing COEHD at community events
  • Assisting COEHD in recruitment efforts
  • Working academic open houses and new student orientations
  • Participating in various COEHD panels
  • Serving on the Undergraduate Advisory Council
Applications for the 25-26 school year will open on Tuesday, April 1 and close Wednesday, April 16.

Ambassador Requirements


  • Must be at least a sophomore (>30 hours)
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must be a current undergraduate student in COEHD
  • Must be enthusiastic and display a positive attitude about COEHD and Lamar University
  • Must be able to volunteer a minimum of 10 service hours each semester
  • Must be available to attend
    • COEHD ambassador orientation
    • Monthly Ambassador meetings
    • (2) Undergraduate Advisory Council meetings per semester
  • Must be available to volunteer at
    • At least one new student orientation during the summer
    • Spring and fall Cardinal Views
  • Is expected to volunteer for department tours, college fairs, and/or community events throughout the academic year.
