The Master of Engineering Science Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering at Lamar University Phillip M. Admission Requirements
Admission standards are designed to ensure that all enrolled students are qualified professionals serving in a leadership role in their engineering discipline. The primary requirements are as follows:
- B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field (Transcripts required).
- If English is your second language, check the latest University policy regarding the TOEFL/IELTS requirement.
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is optional for the Master of Engineering Science and Master of Engineering programs.
Degree Requirements
1. All College of Graduate Studies general degree requirements.
2. A minimum of 24 semester hours elective ECE graduate courses. A maximum of 6 hours of non ECE-courses in related fields can be counted if approved by the department graduate advisor. For the list of graduate courses (5000 and 6000), please check the course catalogue
3. Satisfactory completion and defense of a Master's thesis (a minimum of 6 semester hours of ENGR 5390 and ENGR 5391).
