Lamar University participates each semester in the Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED). Our data* contribute to this annual census of students awarded research doctorates from accredited U.S. institutions during the academic year.
The SED measures investment in specifically utilized human resources to analyze the changing characteristics of doctorate recipients over time, using that information to make improvements to our national education system.
*This survey DOES NOT deal with data pertaining to Ed.D. recipients. Only Doctors of Philosophy and Doctors of Engineering should complete the survey.
We ask that if you are completing a Doctor of Philosophy or a Doctor of Engineering, you take the survey in the semester that you graduate after your degree has been conferred.
