Cardinal Emergency Fund
Many of our students have been personally impacted by the extraordinary flooding of Imelda. As with any family, Lamar University has students, faculty, and staff who have been personally impacted by the storm, and we have others in our family who are eager to help where they can. Our first priority is to make sure that our students who are facing shocking losses can continue their educational endeavors without interruption. For each student, that will require a unique approach. What we know from experience is that many of these needs will be financial – to help students recover books, clothes, computers, and other essentials for their LU education. We also know that many of our students will require assistance with housing, transportation, and other basic needs. We are reaching out to our extended LU family to ask your consideration of financial support for our students. Two years ago, we established the Cardinal Emergency Fund, that fund remains active and will be used to address the greatest needs of our students. We ask that you consider giving now to build the Cardinal Emergency Fund to support our students impacted by this storm.
