'My father is a Lamar graduate. After he got his advanced degrees, was a professor there at Lamar for 30 plus years. I got my bachelor’s degree at Lamar and was gainfully employed and self-sufficient. SME student section for many years and the professional section I am still a member of, Society of Mechanical Engineers…There is student section where they have activities for the students, there is the professional section where they have monthly meetings, visits and tours of various businesses. Two of my other brothers are also mechanical engineers. My other brother got a business degree with a computer concentration and my little sister went to the tech school and got a childhood technology degree. So, all of my siblings are Lamar graduates in form or another and my mother also had a communication degree from Lamar. She raised all of us. And when my sister got out of school she went there and got her degree in Mass Communications. So, Lamar has been involved in our family for a long time.'
