‘I started in 1988. I was a policeman and started going to Lamar at nighttime. I got my degree in business, personnel administration. I did my internship with the city of Nederland, became the assistant manager of Nederland. I transitioned from being a policeman with no higher education to having a bachelor’s degree. I was really fortunate to go to Lamar. I enjoyed my time there. At the time I was an older student, I was 28 years old, when I started at Lamar and I was working too. The teachers and professors at the business school were amazing.’
