‘I joined Lamar University in 2006, when I was finishing my Ph.D. My first introductions were to Dr. Stuart Wright. He was my Department Chair for over a decade I believe, Dr. Jimmy Simmons who was the President of Lamar and Dr. Steven Doblin, who was the Provost. Those are three of the most ethical leaders I will ever meet… very kind, generous, kind, ethical men who have tons of integrity. Despite the culture shock of coming from Boston to Beaumont and New York before Boston, what has kept me at Lamar has been my students who are incredibly hard working, diligent, honest, and just have an admirable work ethic.’
