‘Over 50% of our students are underrepresented minorities, Hispanic Latino, African American, and others and I speak Spanish so I was just really excited about being able to be one of the leaders at an almost Hispanic serving institution. I work with a great group of students. There are 12 departments in the college, so all of the sciences, all of the social sciences, like you are in and I am in too, because I am a political scientist originally, and the humanities and modern languages, so, it is a broad college. It’s the largest college of the five academic colleges and it’s just been a wonderful experience! The people are kind and supportive and Provost Dan Brown and the new President are really active and energetic and leading this university towards a campus that’s more lively and more engaged.’
