‘I lived four-and-a-half hours away in Dallas. So, everything was new. Being in a different city, new people, and not knowing the area I’m in, I had to learn to live on my own and take care of myself. Reality set in when I had my own place to live, keep myself fed, and all of those different things. I learned time management and learned to branch out more. It’s taught me how to become an adult and make friends maturely and be active at school.  I basically learned how to live and balance everything on my own…I learned there is a lot I can do here at Lamar and I’ve gained a positive experience with learning how to navigate early adulthood and get my degree in 2024.’
