‘Back in 1976, I graduated from French High School in Beaumont, and I decided to attend Lamar University after graduation. It has literally been one of the best things ever happened in my life. I would have been unable to financially afford to go off to another Texas state school or any other state. Lamar gave me the opportunity to get a great education right here in my hometown. And the institution is responsible for whatever success I've been able to accomplish in the years following graduation.'
‘The professors were just completely caring and professional, and the education was top notch. I thought I got an education that was comparable to University of Texas or to any other school that I could have gone to if I could have afforded. I made so many great friends at Lamar University that I still keep in contact with. Lamar has just done so much for me in all aspects of my life….I would advise any prospective student to get to know their classmates because those are relationships and friendships that you'll have for many years.’
