‘In the Fall semester of 2020, I became affiliated with Lamar University. In 2023 things are quite different from when I arrived as a new college student during the pandemic. The campus was slow and empty. Organizations were recruiting, but your options for networking and socializing were obviously restricted. In 2021, I became a part-time employee at the Setzer Student Center, and I am currently a member of the American Criminal Justice Association, Criminal Justice Student Association, and Lamar University Hispanic Society.’
‘When I first stepped onto campus, it felt like home here. I knew that this was a place for me. It’s a great small community. I am glad to live in and be part of it. Lamar is a big part of who I am now. It has enhanced my development as a student, staff member, and most importantly as a person. With the assistance and support from my professors, I was able to also discover my passion within the criminal justice field. I would like to thank our Criminal Justice professors, Dr. Vidisha Worley, Dr. Robert Worley, Mr. Broome, Ms. Roebuck, Mr. Brewer and Dr. Lin.’
