B.S. in Criminal Justice, Class of 2020
Interviewed by Jenee Webb on 03/08/2023
‘I graduated high school in 2015. I went to Lamar kind of unexpectedly. I was in a situation that forced me to go to Lamar. And at first, I despised every single moment of it, but it ended up being one of the best things that could have happened to me, honestly, because it shaped the rest of my life, and I ended up finding myself at Lamar. So, I have to thank the university…turned out to be a blessing in disguise….more like a hometown kind of feel where it's like everybody kind of knows each other one way or another and if you don't know them, you know of them. Such a tight-knit network and I feel as though everybody really wants to see the best of each other. The longer you're at Lamar, the more people you get to know, the more people recognize your face, including the professors, the administration, and it's like it becomes real kind of homey in a sense. Just like being able to know everybody and also not really just feeling out of place because people are really there to help you… in your best interest.’
