‘During one of my classes over the summer, I was in the main island of Japan, in the southern island of Japan, and in Okinawa, and in the U.S., all during the same 6-week period.’
‘I started attending Lamar in the Fall of 2021. As a student at Lamar University, I enjoyed the opportunity to interact with professionals from all over the country. We had prosecutors from California, we had correctional supervisors from Georgia, we had people from all over the U.S. and that was a wonderful opportunity. Mine was a purely online experience. I had discussions with a prosecutor from California that went beyond the class. The online experience was quite good. But there were a few headaches depending on which time zone I was in. I am not permanently located in Japan… We have to pay very close attention to the little things like due dates and assignment times. The program is very good about pushing students to do research and become better writers. I was very pleased with how that worked out. The research assignments that were given out in class always required critical thinking. Just the constant writing practice was really helpful, especially for work. The employment law section of your class surprised me at how useful and interesting that actually turned out to be, and I was not expecting that at all. The class I took in Homeland security was absolutely excellent. I have kept my notes from these two classes for my future use in my line of work.
