‘I graduated high school in 2007 and so Fall of 2007 I started at Lamar University. I am a Beaumont native and I knew I wanted to pursue my education but I didn’t want to travel too far away from home and Lamar was a fantastic option for me. I got an opportunity to actually live and work on campus as a resident assistant and really made some lifelong friendships while I was there. I learned just so many different life skills. I made everlasting friendships. My roommate in college, we are actually still great friends to this day. We were in each other’s weddings, just very, very close. When I was at Lamar from 2007 to 2011, some of the dorms, called phases at that time, were still being built and so being able to be a part of just that history at that time was fantastic. I am now the Director of Administration here at Lamar Institute of Technology and the pleasure of working for Dr. Valentine and it is something new and exciting each and every day. Go LU!’
