‘Living on campus, even our guy friends, would rush over and we would watch Days of Our Lives together and have lunch and we would all go back to classes.’
‘I started Lamar University as a freshman in 1994. I studied here for four and a half years and ended up getting my degree in Communication. During that time, I just fell in love with Lamar. I wanted to live on campus, join a sorority, and become a cheerleader, and I did it all. I was a cheerleader here for one year, and then I got offered a job in the athletics department. We worked all of the home games, and we were really in charge of doing events. We had the best time. Then I joined a sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, and I eventually was the president. I was an orientation leader. I lived in the old sorority dorms, in Gentry Hall, then I moved into Brook-Shivers as well.  I was here from 2001 to 2006 in the Student Affairs Office. We used to walk through the Setz, and no matter what time of day it was, my crew would have that little place they sat in the Setz, and you would go and you would sit there and you would know that your friends were going to show up. Living on campus, even our guy friends would rush over and we would watch Days of Our Lives together and have lunch and we would all go back to classes. Such a memorable time. It was an amazing college experience and I want that for everyone!’
