‘I became associated with Lamar University spring of 2013 because it was close to home, and I wanted to get my bachelor's degree in social work. The social work program was everything. My professors, I loved them. They were always open. You could come to them. You can ask them anything. They will always help you. Ms. Wright, Dr.  G, it was a very positive environment. They always made you feel welcome, and you could say whatever you needed to say, express yourself without getting the backlash….I had an amazing experience at Lamar. The student life was very active. I also became a part of many organizations at Lamar University, and from the people that I hung around, we became more of a family, my Lamar family.’
