‘I was contacted in the spring of 2018 by one of the regional scouts for North Texas. And she told me about the scholarship program and how Lamar had a bunch of different really generous scholarship programs and our college counselor career advisor at my high school said that she thought I’d be a great candidate. The recruiter also thought I’d be a good candidate for the Mirabeau Scholarship, now called the Presidential Scholarship, and I was lucky enough to receive it and I was very happy to come to Lamar University thanks to those generous scholarships.’

‘Dr. Davis said it the best, not teaching you what to think, teaching you how to think, teaching you how to be critical in the way you view the world, always with a lens for improving it and for having an active role in it. I think that as you go to law school, you know, that really resonates…’

You can come from Lamar and go anywhere…Lamar is just a small state school in the Gulf of Mexico, the coast of Texas, but it's such an amazing school. It's a small community feel, you get to know your professors, you get to develop personal relationships with professors in the ways you don't get to at a large university, but still has the resources to send you to D.C. like I got to with Model UN…gets you in touch with leaders in various fields. I'm happy with what Lamar’s done for me and hopefully I’ll give back eventually.’
