‘I believe, 2016 going in 2017, I received my Associates of Business Administration from Lamar Port Arthur. So, I transition from Lamar Port Arthur to the University, Lamar in Beaumont for my bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems. In my first year after completing my bachelor's degree, my yearly salary actually doubled, within the last five years, it's actually tripled.
‘I went to an etiquette function, and it was, it was really eye opening. And you can kind of take those skills throughout your personal life. One thing that I take away from all the classes, sometimes you go to class and you think, I’ll never use this in real life…And you actually use it in real life.’
‘I was in my late thirties when I decided to return back to school. Sharena Villareyna was going back to school too. We were both the same age. We both were Gemini, we both had kids, and when Hurricane Harvey came, that was my last semester, and both of our cars were destroyed, it was just really challenging. And so, between Sharena and her mother, they brought me to school. That is, so I can make it. I just don’t think I would have made it without that encouragement and just having that support system. So, Sharena Villareyna and I are still good friends today.’
