Interviewed by Brady Muth on 03/09/2023
‘I became a student a Lamar University in the Fall of 1986. I started studying social work. Finance was my first major at Lamar, social work was my second, and I finally stumbled across the Communication Department, and I graduated in spring of 1990 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Speech Communications….My husband and I moved back to the area in 2006 and I started as a lecturer, then an instructor, and currently I am an adjunct instructor and I have been here since 2006. I think Lamar University is a great school. I was thankful as a student studying my undergraduate that it was close to home; it was affordable and I could stay at home with my parents. I think Lamar offers our community and our region a good quality of education for students with a variety of majors and interests. I love the Communication Department; I love what we have to offer and it has always been a home away from home for me…I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this project and I also think that it is great that Lamar is celebrating its 100 years of existence and I hope that they have a lot of fun activities for everybody.’
